On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Syria, Syrian Embassy organized a large-scale Reception at Kerry Center Hotel.

Attended by diplomatic missions members, Syrian community in China, Media, and other Chinese friends from several sections.

The honored guests were:

--H.E.Ismail•Amat, Vice-Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.

--Mr.He Yafei, Assistant of Chinese foreign Minister.

--Mr.Zhang Zhijun, Vice-minister of the International Department, Central Committee of CPC.

--Gen. Ding Jingong, Deputy Director of International Relations Department of Chinese Defense Ministry.

The Reception included Syrian folkloric performances: singing Syrian traditional songs and playing Oud, that were highly appreciated by the guests.

Before opening the ceremony, a diplomatic and tourist photo exhibition was inaugurated, viewing the most important exchanged visits between officials of the 2 countries during the past 50 years. The gallery contained also stands for some beautiful handcrafts, Syrian olive oil, and other Syrian products made in China.

Mr. Ambassador seized this opportunity to honor the ex-Chinese Ambassadors to Syria who exerted distinguished efforts to tighten the ties between Syrian and China for the last 50 years.

Mr. Ambassador handed them over certificates of merit and special shield for this event.

At the end of the reception and enjoying the Syrian food, guests got gifts including special magazine called “A Passage to Syria” issued by the Embassy, DVD about Syrian tourism and economy, and other promotion brochures.
