President al-Assad, Emir of Kuwait Hold Talks on Bilateral Issues, Regional Situations

President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday arrived in Kuwait on an official visit. He was welcomed at Airport by Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Later, President al-Assad and His Highness His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah held two meetings, a bilateral and plenary.

Talks between President Bashar al-Assad and His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace on Tuesday focused on the distinguished ties between the two sisterly countries and ways of enhancing the firm relations, particularly in the political and economic fields.

His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad voiced his country's appreciation of the continuous efforts exerted by Syria to reach Daha Agreement. The two sides stressed necessity of following up on carrying out this agreement to establish security and stability in Lebanon.

President al-Assad and His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad stressed necessity of committing to the unity of the Palestinian ranks, preserving Iraq's unity and territorial integrity, expressing the hope that Arab united efforts would push towards fin ding solutions to the problems from which the Arab region are suffering.

The talks were attended by Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.

Later, his Highness the Amir of Kuwait held a dinner banquet in honor of His Excellency President Bashar al-Assad at Bayan Palace during which they completed their talks.

The banquet was attended by members of the two official delegations.
 

President al-Assad Discusses with Speaker of the Kuwait Parliament and Premier Bilateral Relations

President Bashar al-Assad received at his residence tonight Speaker of the Kuwait Parliament, Jassem Mohammed Khorafi.
At the beginning of the meeting, the president congratulated Khorafi for being reelected Speaker of the Kuwait Parliament.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the brotherly relations between Syria and Kuwait and ways of strengthening them further.
The latest developments on the Arab and regional arenas , and cooperation between the People's Assembly and the Kuwait Parliament , were discussed.
Khorafi , expressed high appreciation over Syria's stances regarding the issues of destiny facing the Arab nation , and over Syria's efficient role in the efforts exerted to activate Arab solidarity.
President alAssad also discussed during his meeting with Kuwait Prime Minister, Nasser al-Mohammed al-Ahmad al-Sabah, bilateral relations between Syria and Kuwait , where both sides expressed satisfaction over the remarkable development of the standing bilateral relations particularly in the economic and investment spheres.
The president also discussed with Sheikh Nasser the situation and current developments in the region.
Sheikh Nasser held a dinner in honor of the president , attended by the official delegations of both countries and senior Kuwaiti officials.
 

President al-Assad Conducts Dialogue on the Investment Reality in Syria with Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry

President Bashar al-Assad visited last evening the Chairman of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ali Thanian Ghanem.
The president conducted a dialogue with the chairman and members of the chamber on the investment reality in Syria and on how to overcome the obstacles that hinder the investors.
The president stressed that Syria has taken and will take measures to facilitate investment operation and attraction of Arab capitals.
