Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Lu Yongxiang affirmed on Wednesday his country's adherence to developing cooperation with Syria, pointing out to the remarkable development in relations between the two countries, especially after the visit of President Bashar al-Assad to China.
During his meeting with a delegation of the Syrian National Progressive Front headed by Vice President of the Front Suleiman Qaddah, Yongxiang expressed his country's firm support to Syria's right to restoring the occupied Syrian Golan and Syria's right to preserve its independence, sovereignty and integrity of land.
Yongxiang underlined Syria's important role in the region's peace process, affirming the need to establish just and comprehensive peace based on UN relevant resolutions and the land for peace formula.
He also praised Syria's positive and constructive role in working for national reconciliation in Iraq and Lebanon, pointing out to Syria's support to China's policy of unity and issues of human rights.
