The 2nd Syrian Expatriates' Conference concluded deliberations Sunday by an expanded session dedicated to expatriates affairs.
The session was attended by the Minister of Expatriates Buthaina Shaaban, Minister of Interior Bassam Abdelmajid and Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad.
Minister of Interior stressed his ministry's commitment to facilitate affairs of expatriates in finishing their papers and issuing passports for them and their families.
On his part, Deputy Foreign Minister underlined that the Foreign Ministry cares about expatriates' issues through Syrian Embassies and the Ministry of Expatriates.
He noted that the ministry has taken several steps to facilitate dealings with expatriates and connect embassies to the central administration.
Minister of Expatriates Sha'ban referred to President Bashar al-Assad's interest in expatriates, saying " he personally cares about expatriates affairs and issues".
In a press conference at the conference final session, the Minister clarified that all recommendations and proposals related to the conference will be conveyed to the Cabinet in order to be later discussed and take suitable resoulotions in this regard.
She stressed that Ministry of Expatriates intensifies efforts to communicate and cooperate with expatriates abroad to make Syria an intellectual and scientific center in the region.
The Minister described this conference as useful and transparent, saying it is the first true meeting which brings expatriates together with their homeland.
She concluded by saying "expatriates have the right to be proud of Syria and its firm and principled stances under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad".
