Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem on Sunday called for caring about the situation of Palestinians in Gaza, ending the suffering and lifting siege imposed on the Palestinian people as a result of Israeli policies and crimes.
During an interposition at an extra-ordinary meeting for the Arab Foreign Ministers' Council in Cairo, al-Moallem urged the Arab League's Council to put this topic on its agenda and take a unified stance to stop the Israeli crimes.
The Council adopted a statement warning against the repercussions of UN ignorance of the Israeli dangerous violations against Palestinian civilians in Gaza and West Bank.
The statement called for taking an immediate move to halt those violations and lift the siege imposed on Gaza Strip.
Al-Moallem called for the necessity of appealing to the Palestinian brothers to work for restoring their unity through constructive dialogue among them in a way that preserves national legitimate rights.
Arab Foreign Ministers also adopted a resolution in which they called Palestinian parties to conduct a dialogue, restore unity and show commitment to what has been agreed upon, particularly in Cairo and Mecca.
Earlier, the Arab League Council issued a separate statement on the Israeli settlement policy, considering the continuation of this policy as 'undermining opportunities of activating the negotiations and achieving peace."
The Council held the United Sates responsible for the continuation of these policies.
